Old Port (Puerto Viejo) is one of the most known beaches in Puerto Rico, to the ticos and the visitors. This area of the Caribbean of Costa Rica, although is very crowded, the light sand and the crystalline water doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. You can arrive easily and is really close to one of the main roads of Puerto Viejo, with restaurants, shops and entertainment areas. The atmosphere of the place is really picturesque: you can be savoring one of the stews of the Caribbean with birds singing in the background while walking on a sandy road, where there are little vendors, and also in the background, swimmers and surfers. Leaving the beautiful natural landscape aside, is one of the favorite beaches for surfers, although it is also a favorite for enthusiasts of snorkelling, diving, horse riding or kayaking.
The area has a nice location, because the national park of Cahuitas and the Chiquita Beach and Punta Uvita, among other areas of interest of the country, are a few kilometers away.
