The Corcovado National Park is one of the most treasured and surprising biological reserves of all Costa Rica. Some people estimate that is the place with more biological diversity in the world –Having in mind the wide area of the park- Which makes it in one of the jewels of nature in a global standard. The park has the biggest forest in the American Pacific - Very easy to say but difficult to achieve!- also, the fauna is really diverse. Among the animals that live in Corcovado, there are a few endangered species, like the jaguar or the “Tayassu tajacu”, also known as American Boar in Spanish, and hundreds of birds, among other species. The park is in the peninsula of Osa, southwest of costa rica, and although it is open to the public, a reservation is required before visiting.

Around the delta of the Diquís river, also in the peninsula of Osa, there are a few examples of an enigma to the country, and also one of the most representative icons of the Costa Ricans: the Sphere stones of costa rica, also known has the stone balls. These imposing stone spheres –spread all over the country, among other things in the Caño Island, where discovered in the 40’s decade, by an American company that where deforesting an area to cultivate bananas. At first, it was believed to have hidden treasures inside of them and some examples where exploded, but they soon discovered that there was nothing inside of them. Every one of have different sizes, the smallest ones are only centimeters, and the bigger ones can go up to 3 meters and weight more than 15 tons. Until these days, no one has discovered where they came from and the reason of their existence, although experts have developed theories. Their location can have a reasonable explanation, like the interpretation of the stars, but they hint to be related with the annual calendar. Other theories state that they were used to show the status of the people who live there and another of the suppositions is that they were marks for routes to other places on the planet. The big enigma is on the table.
