The Grand Place, Grote Markt in Dutch, is one of Brussels' main symbols, and it's one of the most beautiful city's landmarks. It is a cobbled square and it houses one of the most beautiful architectural sites in Belgium with buildings such as the Hotel de Ville -the City Hall and the oldest building in the plaza- or the Maison du Roi, the king of France's royal house. Here the main events of the capital are celebrated. A visit to the Grand Place is a must and almost inevitable, just as drinking a Belgian beer in one of the terraces while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding buildings.
