El Golfo, 35570 Yaiza, Lanzarote

The Gulf is another very curious place in Lanzarote. It is a volcano’s crater which is located on the sea level and it was formed in a eruption in 1730. Nowadays, the crater is flooded with sea water and the lagoon (Clicos Lagoon) has got a greeny colour from the seaweed floating. The thing which attracts people the most is to watch from the viewpoint the landscape with the colorful combination: the green from the lagoon, the blanc of the sand, the red of the rocks… and deep inside the intense blue of the ocean. It is forbbiden to swimin the lagoon.
