The weather and wind in Lanzarote make this island one of the best places where to practice surf. One of the best spots in the island where you can practice this sport or start learning about it is in the Famara beach. The waves are big enough to enjoy a lot. This beach is in the North of the island and it counts with 6 km of white sand surrounded by Peñas de Chache, some of the highest peaks of Lanzarote. Famara is near the village which has the same name, de Caleta de Famara, a fishing village which until recently had the streets full of sand. It is an ideal place where you can experience the essence of the island.
