In the North of Lanzarote, under the Volcano de la Corona, you’ll find the Jameos del Agua, a group of caves and volcanic tubes and one of the most interesting sites to visit in the islands. It is one of the architectonical attractions designed by César Manrique in 1968. This painter, sculptor and architect of the island used the natural structure of the caves to create a new house-cave where the balance between art and nature is almost perfect. In the wholes between the rocks they have built two bars, one garden and one swimmingpool with a concerts hall with an amazing acoustic. In the last jameo, de Cazuela one, there is a salty water spring which flares up from the rocks..
