Funchal is the capital of the island. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Madeira and its urban area is the largest of the zone. The best way to visit it, is to get lost through its streets full of cute white houses and buildings, to stop in some of its squares and enjoy of a relax evironment and eat something local and tasty. You can neither miss the botanical garden of Funchal and a visit to the viewpoint of Sao Gonzalo to admire the best panoramic views to the city and to the Funchal Bay. The best moment to go up is in the evening, when the orange colour of the sky mixes up with the lights of the city.
