Torre el Oro is on the bank of the Guadalquivir River and visiting it is the perfect excuse for a stroll along the promenade that forms the riverbank. The tower is named after the gold coating it used to have. It served as a strategic and defense point to defend the Alcázar, a set of palaces of Seville. Today, and after several restorations, the Torre el Oro is a maritime museum and offers beautiful views of the city.
It is close to the plaza de toros de la Maestranza, another tourist spot of the city.
