Arena Gorda Beach limits with the frontier of Punta Cana, right next to the famous Bávaro Beach. Although the name says otherwise, Arena Gorda is the lightest and whitest sand of all Dominican Republic. In this area, the wind is a little bit stronger, which makes the waters of the ocean a little bit more agitated than in other places of the cape making it the perfect place to surf, kitesurf and windsurf. On this side of Punta Cana it is normal to see horses walking along the shore as many horse riding excursions are arranged. Just like the other beaches in the área, there are many coconut trees along the coast of Arena Gorda and hammocks hanging around to relax with an ocean view.
