El Cortecito is one of the beaches along “The coconut coast”, a zone that has a high amount of coconut trees. It tends to be a crowded place because a lot of the hotels are in this area.
El Cortecito is one of the coasts where there are many beach activities. It’s normal to see people learning how to dance salsa, doing aerobics classes or playing volleyball. It is also a good spot to practice parasailing. Although El Cortecito is surrounded by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the color of the waters is an intense turquoise and the temperature of the water is very warm. Among the coconut trees there are many hammocks, made for people to relax. And, it’s really close to the Plaza el Cortecito marketplace, a place full of souvenirs and artisan crafts
