Charlotte is one of the most important cities in North Carolina, U.S.A., and the capital of Mecklenburg county. Many know it as Queen City in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, old Queen of Great Briitain. Charlotte is really close to the border with South Carolina and has become one of the most important cities in the US resembling aerial transport due to its location. That's where it got its own nick name:... «south international gate». Queen city's an all audience and all ages destination since its to do list is long and diverse. It's known for the NASCAR, one of the biggest and most important car races in the US, but also for int NFL team «Carolina Panthers» or the Discovery Palace, one of the best combined education and fun museums in the nation.
Charlotte has many more things to offer: botanical gardens, parks, and shops. The combination makes it for an exciting city full of life! Besides, it has many local breweries and farmers' marketplaces which whet gastronomy lovers' appetite. To sum up, Charlotte is one of the cities in the USA which comes up as a surprise since 'cause, whatever it is that you're looking for, it has it!

English. American English is spoken all over the USA. Though a bit different from british, it poses no difficulty when it comes to understanding the residents.Spanish and Chinese are also quite common due to migration.

Weather

Charlotte has quite a moderate and wet climate. In winter temperatures rarely go below 0ºC and rain is not common, so snow in the city is quite unusual. The summer's hot and humid with temperatures rising above 30ºC on average. Though the months with the most rainfall are March and April, short downpours are common on sunny days. November's the driest month.

Money

US Dollar (USD). You can use a credit card in most stores and restaurants in the city. In case of need, the city is filled with ATM and banks to change currency.

When to go

May and June. These months come after the rainy season and just before the heat strikes. That makes it the best time to enjoy the city, visit its parks and the surroundings as well as practicing the best known sports in the city!

Days

2-3 days. Charlotte's a big city but can easily be visited in a little over a weekend. Most tourists use the city as a base camp to go to other places in North Carolina as well as moving to famous natural parks around it.
