The historic centre of Alicante is the urban and cultural center of the city and is one of the favorite places for alicantinos, who refer to this area of the city as "El Barrio". During the day it’s advisable to visit some of its most famous monuments like the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, Santa Barbara Castle ( Castle of the Moor Alicante), City Hall, Street Labradores, the district of Santa Cruz, La Rambla , port or museums that are in the area -if you go in Christmas do not miss nativity scenes - although when night comes you do not want to go to sleep.
