If you like to hike or you simply want to have a different touristic route, then you have to go to the Macizo de Anaga, in the North of the island. Macizo de Anaga is a group of mountains formed more than 7 million years ago from a volcanic eruption. This part of the island was declared a biosphere reserve by the UNESCO, and going into this area is like getting lost in Jurassic Park. From a small road you can enter first to some small villages and from there you can choose out of many different hiking routes. There are many legends about the forests
