In the South of Gran Canaria you can find one of the most spectacular zones of the island: the Dunes of Maspalomas. This natural reserve has more than 400 hectares and it is like a small desert next to the sea formed by some golden sand dunes which form an amazing landscape. In it there are many animals, some of them coming from Africa. Together with the beach, you can visit the lighthouse which was built in the end of the 19th century.
