Teror is one of the most beautiful villages of the island of Gran Canaria. It is known basically for its Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pino, the patron saint of Gran Canaria. There you can find a carved wooden figure of the virgin, very revered by the locals. On the 8th of September they celebrate the Fiesta de la Virgen del Pino, one of the most important festivities in the island and in the whole archipelago. A part from the church, the best of Teror is its colonial architecture in the streets and buildings. Around the square of Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Pino and the Calle Real it is full of old houses with wooden balconies very beautiful. A good day to visit it is Sunday in the morning, where there is a local market where you can find some of the local food.
