The Jewish quarter of Girona is one of the most important and best preserved Jewish communities in Western Europe. It's a maze of narrow streets, buildings that vary in time, and a great tourist attraction. The original street of the quarter is 'carrer de la Força', through which many Jewish families settled in the twelfth century around the Cathedral. It's within the walls of the city and has a huge amount of charming restaurants and bars. Walking through this part of the city is a trip back in time although it's advisable to go well shoed because it has hills so you tend to climb and descend a lot and the floor is stone-paved. This neighborhood is, definitely, one of the areas you must see when visiting Girona.
