Assisi is usually connected with St. Francis of Assisi, which makes it a must-stop place for the pilgrims, but the city has a lot more to offer. It has the Basilica di San Francesco (13th century) decorated by artists such as Giotto, Cimabue or Andrea da Bologna; also the town’s Cathedral of San Rufino, the Convent of Santa Chiara, the Santa Maria degli Angeli church.
