This Nabataean Theater is located just in the very centre of Petra. The most of it was carved out of a solid rock. When it was working it had a capacity of aroudn 8.500 people. The Petra Theater is thought to be built during the Nabataean kingdom under Aretas IV (9 BC-40 AD).
