The siq opens into Petra’s most magnificent façade; the Treasury, or also known as “Al Khazna”. It is almost 40 meters high and it is decorated with Corinthian capitals, friezes, figures and amazing details, crowned by a funerary urn, considered by the legends as a pharaoh’s treasure. The original function is still a mystery, but it is known that it was probably built in the 1st century BC. The Treasury has two floors.
