One of the charms and peculiarities of the Philippines is that it is a country full of islands. These tracts of land have become a major tourist centers and are authentic havens for visitors. Depending on the trip you are planning, you can visit a few islands, although to reach some of them you will have to either take a plane or a boat. Here, we leave some indications so you can decide according to your interests:

  • Palawan Island: Paradise on Earth. It is one of the favorite islands for the Philippines and hides a very interesting wildlife, both on land and sea. It is a good place to visit and do some diving. It has the longest underground river in the world with over 8 kilometers, while also having some caves, the Tabon Caves, which will leave you with your mouth open. Surely, you will not go wrong if you decide to visit it!

  • Mindoro Island: This island is divided into two provinces, West Mindoro and East Mindoro. The economic activity of the island is based on agriculture and it cultivates many tropical fruits such as coconuts or bananas. In recent years, Puerto Galera, a city in the northern part of the island, is rapidly becoming a tourist focus, especially for evening activities. The landscape of this island — as the other ones — is fantastic. If you go there, you're not going to regret it.

  • Bohol Island: It is an hour and a quarter by plane from Manila, but, if you have time, this is the island where the "Chocolate Hills" are, that is, a huge valley with small earth-colored hills. There is a small island next to it, Alona beach, which is nice and offers good value accommodation for tourists.

  • Boracay Island: This island is a major tourist spot, especially for the festival. It is about 300 kilometers south of Manila and has a very wide range of bars, restaurants, clubs and pubs. Its most famous beach is the "White Beach" for its white sand and crystal-clear water. In addition, there are also many stores and businesses focused on water activities for both families and groups of friends. It's a good place if you're looking for a dreamy landscape and relaxation combined with a good pace of activities.
