Pa amb tomàquet (bread with tomatoe) is the dish par excellence of Catalonia and you can't leave Girona or any other part of the country without trying it. The recipe is simple, it's just bread with tomato on it, add a splash of olive oil and, if desired, a little bit of salt. As side dishes you can choose from many options but the embotits (coldmeat) and cheese are the most common ones.
