In the new area of the city there is the commercial centre Azkuna. This complex is located in an old wine storage building, known as the meatball “La Alhóndiga”. The building was renewed and the result is stunning. The commercial centre is one of the most important points of the Bilbao culture and leisure. If you decide to go one day a bit out from the city centre don’t miss this one, pay attention to its 43 pillars which support the whole building. Each of them is unique and different!

In front of the building there is a small square very nice for sitting and relaxing between the trees. A curious note is that all around the square you’ll find instead of street lamps, regular lamps you would find in houses, like small lamps shape but huge.
