Porto Arabia is a waterfront neighbourhood in Doha and inside of it there is the artificial island Pearl-Qatar with around 12.000 residents. The name of “The Pearl” comes from its location, there was previously one major pearl diving sites when Qatar was one of the most important pearl traders in the whole Asia before the oil boom.
