Amboy Crater is a nice Natural Landmark since 1973 because of its geological significance. It is an old volcano crater which contains 2 lava lakes (nowadays flat), they look like dry lakes. Sometimes you can see beautiful wildflowers around it. It is a nice and interesting place to visit, about 2 hours driving from Palm Springs, definetely worth. It is located in the Bristol Valley, between Barstow and Needles, being the closest town, Ludlow.
