Brisbane is good connected by bus, not just with intercity public buses, but is also good connected by bus, not just within the city but also along the whole island stopping at the main cities of the region. Within the urban routes in Brisbane you’ll find the Dayboro-Strathpine route stopping at Dayboro, Rush Creek, Whiteside, Petrie and Strathpine for example. Translink is another company providing urban intercity buses.

Brisbane and in general the state of Queensland is very well connected through several trains with many lines: the Airport Line, the Beenleigh Line, Caboolture Line, Cleveland Line, Doomben Line, Ferny Grove Line, Gold Coast Line, Ipswich/ Rosewood Line, Redcliffe Peninsula Line, Shorncliffe Line, Springfield Line and Sunshine Coast Line. Prices will depend on the zones travelled.

Car rental

The best way of travelling around the region is certainly renting a private car, so you can discover every corner of the area without depending on bus timetable. Depending on the season of the year it’s better to book in advance, but you can also do it in the airport, where you’ll find all the available options. You’ll find the major rental car companies such as Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar or Thrifty.

 

Bike rental

It is very easy and cheap to rent a bike in Brisbane, and actually, it is also a very good way for travelling the city around and discover all of its kept corners and spots. Brisbane is very good designed for cycling and there are Brisbane City Council CityCycle bikes at every key corner of the city, also equipped with helmets.

 

Ferry

In Brisbane you can also travel by ferry. In the city, the ferries are very well known as CityCats, and to travel on one of them is the best way of exploring the city and to recognize the main spots and the remarkable shapes of the city’s skyline. A part from the CityCat, there are other ferry companies such as: Cityhopper, Bulimba to Teneriffe Cross River Ferry, Kangaroo Point Cross River Ferry or Norman Park to new Farm Park Cross River Ferry.
