During centuries various authors and personalities have developed their own lists of what they thought were the most wondrous places on Earth. It has been a variety of views for a long time but the last update was made at the beginning of ours age, in 2000. More than 100 million votes were registered to vote a selection of 200 exceptional monuments in the world. And these, so far, are the finalists:
